The ” International Eco Enduro will be run on electrical motorcycles over a period of 3 days. For the first two days as a traditional enduro race - but the final day the race will transform into a Super Motard / MX type race on a small circuit, build for the occasion, in the center of Copenhagen.
The race is run during the COP15 - the UN Climate Change Conference. The pourpose and idea of the race is to show the world that mechanical sports can be environmentally responsible and is prepared to seek new ways and innovative solutions to reduce the sports negative impact on the worlds climate.
The main competition will be run on Quantya Track Evo 1. But all makes, even prototypes are welcome if they comply to the regulations set up by the organization. The riders must have an FIM international licence to compete in the race.
For the main competition 30 national and international top riders are invited to race on Quantya bikes with the exact same configuration. Riders can wear their own sponsors on the clothes and helmet - but the bikes will be decorated with the sponsor name. No inscription fee for invited riders.
Inscription fee for non invited riders will be announced soon - but the organizers will try to keep it to a minimum. The Danish Quantya importer gives a € 1000,- deduction on a Quantya Evo 1 - if the byer enters the International Eco Enduro 2009.
The race center will be at Feddet, located 80 km., south of Copenhagen. Local riders ( Danes - Scandinavians ) can camp at the campsite for free - or we will supply a cabin or camper. Foreign invited riders that race in the main category - and invited correspondents will be invited to stay close by at Hotel Fredriksminde. Foreign invited riders will only have to show up in CPH airport and the organizers will take care of hotel - transportation and food. After the race there will be transportation back to hotel and finally airport. The other invited riders will be from the top of the Danish MX and Enduro elite list.
Dec. 10th. Since most riders does not have experience on electric bikes there will be technical introduction to the Quantya Evo 1 for the invited riders, and training for all competitors at Feddet.
Dec. 11th. Administrative scrutinering in the early morning. First leg is at Feddet a 13 -15 km winding enduro track - flat terrain in forrest and heather. Transportation to second special ” Faxe Kalk ” by bus. Lunch - talking to the press or relaxation during recharge of batteries. Second special is very technical and demanding - distance 10 - 11 km. After 2 stage. Back to Feddet where an exiting night stage of 12- 15 km awaits the compeditors.
Dec 12th. Early transport by bus / truck to the town to Møn ( 70 km ) We race 2 enduro stages i very exiting terrains. There will be lunch and time to talk to the press between stages. Back to Feddet where one more night stage - this time with a secret lenght - forceing compeditors to reduce speed and keeping an eye on battery capacity all through the stage.
Dec 13th. We proise this last day will be an exiting spectator stage - totally different from the previous days. The venue is a park in the center of Copenhagen where we construct on a compact but still very challengeing MX / Super motard type track. We plan to do several stages hopefully with a lot of spectators and with the international press attending. Price giving will take place right after the final.
Since the whole world press is in CPH during the Climate conference we expect a lot of spectators and of course the national and international press to follow the whole race.
